A local solicitors firm is treating the behind the scenes stars of West Cornwall Sunday Football League (WCSFL) to an annual celebratory dinner in the run up to Christmas.

Nalders LLP has sponsored WCSFL for three years and it also presents the Behind the Scenes Star Awards to those special people that work hard in their own time to make the League run.

The special dinner will take place at the Chiverton Arms, Blackwater on 25th November.　 It’s a celebration of the contribution made by the dedicated volunteers and referees who enable the community to enjoy the game.　 It also acknowledges the support and cooperation of partners, without which, the significant contribution that these members make would not be possible.

Wayne Bushell, Partnership Director of Nalders describes why the firm is so proud of the Award winners.　

"These men and women go beyond the call of duty to keep the fixtures organised and the game clean and enjoyable.　 The Referees Initiative simply couldn’t be as successful as it’s been without these unsung heroes implementing it.　 Player behaviour has improved beyond recognition, putting the beauty back into the game.　 This is largely down to the hard work of the Behind the Scenes Stars and the annual dinner is a good way to show our thanks for their dedication and commitment."

Founded in 1985, the WCSFL is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year.　 The League covers Truro and all points west and has 15 teams made up of players over 16 years old.
