Nalders solicitors, one of the largest law firms in Cornwall, are pleased to sponsor this new event, ensuring its success this year which will establish it as a regular feature of the Fal River Festival, benefiting organisations county-wide every year.
Event organiser, Helen Mulhern of Eventy said, "Community support is very important to Nalders who undertake a range of fundraising initiatives as well as having a foundation to support local charities. Sponsoring some of the costs, Nalders will also be helping to spread the word about C3 through its website, posters and flyers in each of its offices."
Mark Buswell, Partner at the Falmouth office of Nalders said, "With seven offices throughout Cornwall from Penzance to St.Austal, Nalders are delighted to be able to back this event to reach out across the county as far as possible. It’s important that any organisation that might be able to utilise this opportunity hears about it and takes part. It is also important that the public knows about the fantastic line up on the day and comes and enjoys the fun and activities".
Everyone is welcome and entertainment will take place throughout the day in the marquee and outside on Events Square. A time-table of activities on the day is regularly being updated at www.kingharryscornwall.co.uk/festival/11429
Britta Hoffmann, Marketing Manager for BF Adventure (formerly: The Bishop's Forum) who are taking part on the day said, "C3 is encouraging non-profit groups to utilise the whole area to raise funds and awareness. Our charity is offering the opportunity to abseil down the side of the Maritime Museum during the day which is something a little out of the ordinary! We are looking for people who want to do something brave, and raise funds in support of our work with young people from disadvantaged backgrounds at the same time. it's already proving to be extremely popular, to register visit www.bfadventure.org ".
Hall for Cornwall is taking a pitch in the marquee throughout the day to showcase its latest fundraising project ‘Sleeping Beauty’s Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Long Scarf’. Aiming to knit the world’s longest knitted scarf, staff from the venue will be on hand to tell people how they can become involved in this Guinness record-breaking attempt.
Lindsey Skinner from Hall for Cornwall said: "We are very proud to be joining forces with the people of Cornwall on this exciting project. As well putting Cornwall on the map as a record-breaking county, money raised will be used for the upkeep of our lovely listed theatre building. What’s more, the knitting itself will eventually be used to make blankets for elderly people in the region. We do hope people will come along to our stand to find out more."
Craig Blackburn, Director of Jinga Communities CIC will be holding a demonstration on the Square in the morning and afternoon. Craig said, "The idea is for each organisation to think outside of the box and do something that will engage the public to find out more about their organisation whilst entertaining them. We will be bringing the rhythm of Brazil to Event Square with a demonstration of capoeira, a blend of acrobatics, martial arts, music and dance."
Other organisations holding activities on the day include Cornwall Community Foundation, Cornwall Rural Community Council, Cornwall Hospice, Cornwall Samaritans, LINk, HfT West, Merlin Project, Merlin Theatre Company, One Step Further Stroke Club, Moon Hut Writers, Precious Lives, Redruth Operatic Society, Robert Owen Communities, RNLI, Sailaday OK, Shelterbox, Swamp Circus, Truro Round Table, U Dance, and many more!
