Local Firm Parries Fencing Costs for Local Teenager
A Cornish teenager with physical disability is learning to fence thanks to some special corporate support. Quality Solicitors Nalders is paying for a year’s fencing club membership for 17 year old Georgi Ivins from Seaton near Looe.
Georgi is learning to fence at Plymouth Fencing Club having tried the activity with her Active 8 group. Active 8 is a Cornish charity that facilitates activities for young people with physical disability.
Quality Solicitors Nalders is supporting the charity as a whole by paying for residential activity weekends this year. When the Partners at the local law firm heard how enthusiastic Georgi is about fencing, they decided to give her some extra encouragement.
Georgi loves learning to fence:
“Fencing is a sport that I can enjoy as it is accessible, even using a wheelchair. It is quite a difficult activity and even my coaches get tired fencing from the position that my chair gives me but I am absolutely loving it.”
Georgi’s mum Louise is delighted with her daughter’s new hobby:
“This is the first sport that Georgi has taken a real interest in. It’s brilliant to see her so enthusiastic. Fencing is ideal for wheelchairs as it is a truly adaptable activity.”
Wayne Bushell, Partnership Director for Quality Solicitors Nalders is pleased that the firm can help:
“Activities are often inaccessible for young people due to both disability and cost. Quality Solicitors Nalders is delighted that it can help Georgi learn this admirable sport and wish her plenty of fun and enjoyment.”
